ANALISIS EKOLOGI SASTRA PADA ANTOLOGI PUISI LUKA DI KULIT BUMI KARYA JARIMAN DAN RELEVANSINYA DALAM BAHAN AJAR SASTRA DI SMK

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the elements of literary ecology in Jariman's poetry anthology "Wounds on the Earth's Skin" and examine its relevance in literature teaching materials in Vocational High Schools (SMK). The research is motivated by the deepening environmental crisis in Indonesia and the low ecological awareness among vocational high school students, who tend to be more oriented towards vocational education and practical skills. The study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analytical methods. The primary theory employed is Lawrence Buell's concept of ecocriticism. The research object is all the poems in the anthology "Wounds on the Earth's Skin." Data collection was conducted through a note-taking technique, which includes repeated in-depth reading, recording, classification, and data reduction. The results show that the poetry anthology contains four elements of literary ecology according to Lawrence Buell's perspective: (1) the historicity of non-human elements, which depicts changes in natural conditions from the past to the present; (2) the legitimacy of the interests of non-human elements, which is shown through the personification of nature as an entity with feelings, rights, and interests; (3) human responsibility towards nature, which serves as a primary critique of human greed and negligence. and (4) the dynamics of nature, which depicts the negative impacts of human intervention on the environment. Jariman predominantly uses personification, "past-present" contrasts, and strong metaphors to depict the earth's suffering. This poetry anthology is considered highly relevant as literature teaching materials in vocational schools because it uses simple, easy-to-understand language and its themes directly address current environmental issues. In keeping with the pragmatic characteristics of vocational students, learning with this material is expected to foster ecological awareness, moral responsibility for the environment, and increase student sensitivity and productivity in literature learning.
